Rudy Giuliani, former President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, has been disbarred from practicing law in Washington, D.C. The decision was made due to Giuliani’s false statements about the 2020 presidential election.

Giuliani had been facing multiple complaints about his conduct following the election, where he falsely claimed widespread voter fraud had occurred. These claims were found to be unsubstantiated and fueled the violent attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

In addition to being disbarred in Washington, D.C., Giuliani also had his law license suspended in New York for similar reasons. The actions taken against him highlight the serious consequences that can result from spreading false information and undermining the integrity of the electoral process.
