Perdue recalls 68,000 pounds of chicken nuggets after people find wood in them
Perdue Foods will recall 68,244 pounds of gluten-free chicken nuggets after people found wood in them, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
Some customers found pieces of wood in the chicken nuggets, prompting Perdue to recall the products. The recall affects 22-ounce bags of frozen fully cooked chicken nuggets with a “best by” date of Oct. 25, 2019. The bags have the establishment number “P-369” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The nuggets were shipped to stores nationwide.
The USDA classified the recall as Class I, meaning it is a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that using the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consuming these products. Customers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them and should throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
