Former President Trump’s DC hotel to charge $3K for Jan. 6 weekend
In the midst of controversy over comments about the Jan. 6 riot, former President Donald Trump’s DC hotel will reportedly be charging guests over $3,000 for two nights during the weekend of the anniversary of the Capitol insurrection.
The price of the package offered by the Trump International Hotel, Washington, D.C., includes a welcome glass of champagne, a $100 food and beverage credit, and a spa discount. The cost for two adults totals $3,095.
The hotel has been a popular spot for Trump supporters and conservative groups since it opened in 2016. However, the Trump Organization has faced scrutiny and legal challenges unrelated to the hotel’s business performance.
The hotel’s website describes the property as a “historic luxury hotel” in downtown Washington, D.C. and offers amenities such as a steakhouse, lounge, spa, and fitness center.
The anniversary of the Jan. 6 riot is approaching on Friday, and officials are bracing for potential demonstrations in D.C. and around the country. Trump has faced criticism for his handling of the riot and his false claims that the 2020 election was stolen from him.
Despite the controversy, the Trump International Hotel’s weekend package provides an option for guests looking to stay in the nation’s capital during the anniversary of the Capitol insurrection.
