President Biden meets with German Chancellor Scholz at the White House
WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden meets with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the White House to talk about Ukraine, Angola, Hurricane Milton.
Biden greets Scholz on Monday in the White House which marks a new era in relations with Germany as Chancellor Angela Merkel left office after 16 years.
The meeting in the Oval Office covered a wide range of topics from security in Europe to climate change to the coronavirus pandemic.
The leaders also discussed the situation in Ukraine, where the U.S. is concerned about a potential Russian invasion, as well as the need for global cooperation on fighting the COVID-19 virus.
Biden and Scholz talked about the situation in Angola and the effects of Hurricane Milton, which devastated the country earlier this year.
The two leaders reaffirmed the strong bond between the United States and Germany and their commitment to working together on global challenges.
