North Korea demands US to remove sanctions for denuclearization talks
North Korea accused the United States government of being the main obstacle to the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. North Korea’s government insisted that the US must remove sanctions before any progress can be made in the stalled nuclear negotiations.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un criticized the US for continuing military exercises with South Korea, despite suspending its own joint military drills with Seoul. The North Korean government viewed these exercises as a provocation that hinders diplomatic efforts.
The US government has maintained that sanctions will not be lifted until North Korea takes concrete steps towards denuclearization. This stalemate has led to a standstill in negotiations and heightened tensions between the two countries.
Despite the lack of progress, both sides have expressed a willingness to continue diplomatic discussions. However, the issue of sanctions remains a major point of contention that must be resolved before any significant advancements can be made in denuclearization talks.
